Since the single row angular contact ball bearing 7300 series have a contact angle, they can sustain significant axial loads in one direction together with radial loads. Due to their design, when a radial load is applied, an axial force component is produced; therefore, two opposed bearings or a combination of more than two must be used.

The 7300 series does not have filling slots and has a larger cross section than the 7200 series, making it suitable for moderate to heavy loads and slower speeds. This bearing is made of low-alloy, through-hardened chrome steel for durability and resistance to deformity under heavy loads. The contact angle of the balls in relation to the raceways gives the bearing a greater capacity for supporting thrust loads over bearings with a lower contact angle. The bearing has a straight bore for fitting on a conventional cylindrical shaft. Its open design facilitates lubricating the bearing in place and dissipating heat.

Medium series 7300 bearings have the same ring and ball cage construction as the 7200 Series but are heavier sectioned bearings with a ball complement capable of handling heavier loads. For two directional thrust loads, use duplex bearings.

There are several different cage types that are commonly used in angular contact ball bearings, such as machined brass cage, polyamide cage, steel cage etc, and the client chooses it based on the condition for the bearing application.

Application

The angular contact ball bearing is for use in commercial and industrial applications including pumps and compressors, automotive drives, gearboxes, rolling mill and printing machines, among others.
