Thrust ball bearing

 

The thrust ball bearing is composed of seat ring, shaft ring and steel ball cage assembly. The shaft ring that cooperates with the shaft, and the seat ring that cooperates with the outer casing.

Thrust ball bearings are designed to withstand thrust loads at high speeds and consist of a washer-like ferrule with ball rolling groove grooves. Since the ferrule is a cushion shape, the thrust ball bearing is divided into two types: flat base cushion series and self-aligning spherical seat cushion series. And this bearing can withstand axial loads but cannot withstand radial loads.

According to the force condition, it can be divided into two types: one-way thrust ball bearing and two-way thrust ball bearing. Single direction design includes two rings, referred to as shaft and housing washers and a single ball and cage assembly. Double direction design, on the other hand, includes three washers and two ball and cage assemblies. The ball and cage assemblies of the double direction type are separated by the shaft washer.

 

One-way thrust ball bearings can withstand one-way axial loads, while the two-way thrust ball bearing can withstand two-way axial load, in which the shaft ring is matched with the shaft. The mounting surface of the seat is spherical and has a self-aligning performance, which can reduce the influence of installation errors.

 

Thrust bearing is a particular type of rotary bearing. Like other bearings they permit rotation between parts, but they are designed to support a predominantly axial load. Thrust bearings are commonly used in screw jacks, machine tool spindle tail stock, automotive, marine, and aerospace applications. They are also used in the main and tail rotor blade grips of radio controlled helicopters.
