UCT is a unit that combines a cast iron take up bearing box fitted with a slide groove. The bearing box can be moved along the slide groove in a radial direction to adjust the support position at the shaft center.

The UCT take up unit has narrow machined grooves either side to allow movement on suitably machined rails, and a tapped hole in the base to attach a threaded bar to move along the slide groove in a radial direction to facilitate adjustment.

UCT series pillow block bearings are for high speed, low speed and oscillation applications. And we have specialized anti-corrosion finishes and coatings for different application environments, such as trivalent zinc, zinc nickel, black oxide, nickel anodizing and chrome.

Pillow blocks are usually mounted in cleaner environments & generally are meant for lesser loads of general industry. These differ from "plummer blocks" which are bearing housings supplied without any bearings & are usually meant for higher load ratings & corrosive industrial environments. However the terms pillow-block & plummer-block are used interchangeably in certain parts of the world.

The pillow block bearings are typically used for conveyor roller tension systems, mining applications, rolling mills, pulp and paper mills etc.
