GE Series Spherical Plain Bearings are sliding bearings consisting of an inner ring with convex sphere outer surface and an outer ring with a concave sphere inner surface. Spherical Plain bearings are used generally for relatively slow tilting and oscillating motions and for applications characterized by high contact pressures. They are particularly suitable for bearing arrangements where a certain misalignment of the shaft with respect to the housing must be accommodated. They can also accommodate heavy radial and/or axial loads dependent upon the design.
