Drawn cup needle roller bearings with closed ends of the series BK are constructed like drawn cup needle roller bearings of the series HK, but are closed on one side. They are used for shaft end mounting. The open end is not sealed. They can be used when the shaft is suitable as a raceway.

The original drawn cup needle roller bearing, as invented and introduced, employs a full complement of rollers. The full complement drawn cup bearing combines maximum capacity and low cost with the advantages of the drawn outer ring. The inward turned lips of the cup are used to mechanically retain the full complement of needle rollers to provide positive radial retention of the rollers even though it may be necessary to remove the shaft repeatedly during the servicing of the mechanism employing the bearing.

BK type caged drawn cup bearings have a steel cage which provides inward retention of the needle rollers. The design provides maximum cage strength consistent with the long life requirements. We also have available bearings with other cage designs. Bearings with reinforced plastic cages are for use where operating conditions permit.

Drawn cup needle roller bearings are also available with two needle roller and cage assemblies. They have a lubricating hole in the outer ring. Metric series drawn cup bearings with one needle roller and cage assembly may be made available on request with a lubricating hole, indicated by suffix.

Application

Scope of application: The drawn cup needle roller bearing with cage is suitable for high speed and heavy load, and is mostly used for gearbox or textile machinery of machine tools, automobiles and motorcycles. The stamped ferrule needle bearing without cage is filled with needle rollers and is suitable for oscillating working conditions under heavy loads. Such as the frame of the aircraft, the shaft end of the main wing of the missile, and so on.
