Excessive grease in bearings and bearing chambers will cause excessive agitation of the grease, which can generate extremely high temperatures. It is advisable to fill the bearing with lubricant for 1/2 to 1/3 of the internal space of the bearing, and reduce it to 1/3 at high speeds.
