Installation Design and Matching of TIMKEN Four Row Cylindrical Roller Bearings

TIMKEN four-row cylindrical roller bearings can only carry radial loads, therefore, an additional thrust bearing must be used to provide axial support. Housings are usually loose fit to facilitate disassembly for regular maintenance. The preferred fit for the shaft is a tight fit. In some applications, the shaft can also be loosely matched, such as some rough rolling equipment. If the shaft is loosely fitted, a lubricating oil groove should be integrated into the inner bore of the bearing inner ring. Under normal circumstances, the lubricating oil is used to lubricate the bearing through the groove on the end face of the outer ring. The cage is of one-piece construction, and the material is machined brass or steel. The pockets of the cage are staggered between the inner and outer raceways. The RX type bearing is a four-row structure with two outer ring ribs and some side retaining rings to ensure the distance between the rolling element rows. This will make disassembly and inspection easier. Type RX designs are commonly found on bearings with an inner diameter greater than 400 mm. Both brass cages and pin cages are available for this bearing type. In most cases, the bearing inner ring is two-piece. Types RYL and RXL The latest RYL and RXL are available in a wide range of sizes up to an inner diameter of up to 340 mm and are specially designed for long product mills. The steel cage and the optimization of the design maximize the service life of the bearing, prevent the rolling elements from falling off, and also facilitate the handling of the bearing.
