Installation of FYH Housed Bearing Dust Cover Assembly
There are two types of dust cover for FYH rolling bearing with block, steel plate and cast iron, but whichever type of dust cover is installed last after the bearing housing is installed. The installation procedure of the rolling bearing with dust cover is shown below. (1) Apply grease to the entire circumference of the lip of the dust cover seal, and then fill the inner space of the dust cover (1/3 to 1/2 of the space volume) with grease (Fig. 14.11). Fill the seal lip of the dust cover and the inner space with grease (2). After passing the dust cover on one side over the shaft, insert the FYH housing bearing on the shaft. (3) Insert the dust cover passing through the shaft into the cover groove of the bearing housing and fix it. (4A) When installing the steel cover, in order not to deform the dust cover, strike the cover with a synthetic resin hammer evenly over the entire circumference, and install it on the bearing housing (Fig. 14.12). To remove the steel plate cover, insert a screwdriver into the groove on the outer periphery of the cover and pry lightly. When installing the cast iron cover, insert the dust cover into the cover groove of the bearing housing and fix it with bolts. For the tightening torque of the cast iron cover mounting bolts, please refer to Appendix 3 at the end of the volume. (5) Install the dust cover on the other side to the bearing housing in the same way. (6) Check whether there is any abnormality in the installed dust cover. (7) Finally, turn the shaft by hand to check whether the rotation state of the FYH bearing is abnormal.
