Installation of FYH Housed Bearing Fastener Assembly
by:JNSN2022-03-31
FYH tapered bore housed bearings are mounted on the shaft by adding fasteners (sleeves, locknuts and washers) between the bearing bore and the shaft. It can also ensure reliable bearing fixing in applications with strong vibration and shock. However, when the tightening of the lock nut is loose, the fit with the shaft also becomes loose during operation, and the mating surface slides, causing wear on the shaft and components. On the contrary, when the tightening of the lock nut is too tight, the inner ring of the bearing expands and the internal clearance of the bearing is too small, which will cause abnormal heat generation and early wear. Therefore, great care must be taken when using fasteners to install bearings. The installation procedure of a housed rolling bearing with fasteners is shown below. (1) Check whether the rigidity of the base, the flatness of the mounting surface, and the dimensional tolerance of the shaft are qualified. Also, check whether there are any problems such as bending, scratches, burrs, etc. on the shaft. (2) Insert the adapter sleeve into the shaft and place it in the installation position of the FYH bearing with seat set. When the fit is very tight and it is difficult to insert the adapter sleeve, insert a screwdriver, etc. into the incision part of the adapter sleeve to enlarge the incision to make the insertion easier. (3) Insert the seated bearing onto the shaft. Then, put the entire side of the bearing inner ring on the side where the lock nut is installed against the cylindrical retaining ring, and tap lightly on the entire circumference of the large diameter end face of the adapter sleeve to make the inner diameter surface of the bearing inner ring and the inner diameter of the bearing inner ring. The taper of the adapter sleeve is abutted (Fig. 14.6). Insert the adapter sleeve into the tapered bore bearing: (4) Install the washer and the lock nut on the adapter sleeve, and tighten the lock nut by hand. (5) Set the bearing with seat at the fixed position of the base and fix it with bolts. Use a torque wrench to tighten the bearing housing mounting bolts to the specified torque. For the tightening torque of the mounting bolts, please refer to Appendix 3 at the end of the volume. (6) Tighten the locknut of the fastener. Use a special wrench to tighten the lock nut, or use a clamp to clamp the notch on the outer diameter of the lock nut, and tap the clamp with a hammer to rotate the lock nut by 1/4 to 1/3 turn (Figure 14.7). Please refer to Appendix 5 at the end of the volume for the reference value of the lock nut tightening torque at this time. Tightening of the lock nut (7A) When the bearing is equipped with a vertical housing, loosen the mounting bolts of the bearing housing on one side, adjust the axial position of the bearing housing while turning the shaft by hand, and then tighten the bearing housing with the specified torque again. Install the bolts. (7B) For flange type assemblies, the axial positions of the bearing and the bearing housing must be correctly aligned. Therefore, in order not to cause positional deviation of the bearing inner ring, the lock nut should be tightened with great care. (8) Bend the claw (1 piece) of the washer that matches the notch position on the outer diameter surface of the lock nut to the notch position on the outer diameter surface of the lock nut to prevent the lock nut from loosening (Figure 14.8). (9) Finally, turn the shaft by hand to check whether the rotation state of the FYH bearing is abnormal.
