Basic design bearings with protruding balls Some self-aligning bearings in series 12 and 13 have balls protruding from the side of the bearing. This design feature needs to be considered when mounting these bearings. For cylindrical bore bearings, the thermal mounting method is recommended. If the bearing is to be cold-mounted, the intermediate mounting ring of the mounting tool must be recessed by at least 3 mm to prevent damage to the balls. If the bearing has a tapered bore, a two-step hydraulic actuation method with spacer or spacer rings is recommended (fig. 2). ◑ Sealed bearings with tapered bore When installing self-aligning sealed ball bearings to an adapter sleeve, please use an adapter sleeve of the H3..E series.
