Parameters of FAG Radial Cylindrical Roller Bearings and Meaning of Suffix Letters

Features FAG super-precision cylindrical roller bearings include solid outer ring, solid inner ring with tapered inner hole (taper 1:12) and cylindrical roller and cage assembly, and the cage material is brass or polyetheretherketone PEEK. For cylindrical roller bearings NN30, the outer ring is movable and can therefore be mounted separately from the rest. Cylindrical roller bearing NNU49, the inner ring is movable. Double row bearings are used where high accuracy is required and radial loads are high. In machine tool applications, they enable bearing arrangements with high precision, high radial stiffness and very high load-carrying capacity. They provide radial support for the spindle. The ideal floating bearing can compensate for the change in the length direction in the rotational motion due to the non-binding force between the rollers and the raceway without ribs, so the cylindrical roller bearing is especially suitable as a floating bearing. The axial force is borne by the thrust bearing. Bearings with smaller cross-sectional area Cylindrical roller bearings NNU49 have a smaller cross-section than other FAG super-precision cylindrical roller bearings. Consequently, smaller shaft spacings can be achieved in multi-spindle arrangements. Also, diameter ranges not shown in the dimension table are available by agreement. Double row cylindrical roller bearing Cylindrical roller bearing NN30 The rollers in the bearing are guided by the inner ring. The outer ring has a ground cylindrical profile and is movable, Figure 1. The NNU49 has a ground, removable cylindrical inner ring. The rollers are guided by the outer ring. Sealed Cylindrical roller bearings of this type are not sealed. Lubrication Due to the high surface quality of the raceways and rollers, FAG cylindrical roller bearings are particularly suitable for grease lubrication. There are lubricating oil grooves and lubricating oil holes on the outer ring of oil-lubricated double-row bearings. When selecting a lubricant, the operating temperature of the lubricant must be considered. By design, radial bearings can in most cases be lubricated by the smaller thrust bearing above, see page 57. Operating temperature Bearings have an operating temperature range from 30°C to +150°C. The cage material of the cage double row bearing is solid brass (suffix M).
