Spherical roller bearings 24000 series, the raceways in the outer ring of this type bearing are designed with a spherical surface whose center coincides with the bearing center. It has a modified line contact between the raceway and rollers, and this construction enables very high radial and impact load capacity. This bearing can carry a moderately high level of bidirectional axial load and possess self-aligning performance, the permissible dis-alignment angle is 1-2.5°, and can be used in certain permanent deflective application.

The mounting and dismounting of spherical roller bearings is facilitated through the use of tapered bore bearings in conjunction with tapered journals, or adapters or withdrawal sleeves. Pressed steel cages are used for small bore bearings, while machined, high strength brass or mild steel cages are used for bearings with larger bores.

The spherical roller bearings are available in two bore types: cylindrical bore and tapered bore. The taper bore bearing is easily mounted with the use of an adaptor sleeve.

Application

Spherical roller bearings are used extensively for large machines, such as paper mill equipment, rolling machines, rolling stock, shaker screens and general industrial machinery etc.
