One: stamping steel cage. The stamped steel cage of TIMKEN cylindrical roller bearings is made of mild steel and has undergone a series of cutting, forming and perforating processes. This cage has a variety of designs and is suitable for general applications of cylindrical roller bearings. A special design is the S-type cage for 5200 series cylindrical roller bearings, which is mounted on and guided by the outer ring rib. The beams of this cage are of concave design, they evenly isolate the rolling elements and hold them on the outer ring. Stamped steel cages can be easily mass produced and can be used in high temperature, inadequately lubricated environments. Two: Machined cage. Machined cages are an option for small cylindrical bearings, usually brass. The machined cage design of cylindrical roller bearings provides better performance in severe applications. Cages are available in one-piece or two-piece designs. One-piece designs can be either the finger cage shown in Figure 4 or a standard cage with well ground pockets. One-piece finger designs and two-piece window cages (fig. 5) are more common in standard cylindrical roller bearings. They are all roller guided designs. The one-piece pocket design (fig. 6) is a premium cage for EMA series bearings. Unlike traditional cylindrical roller-guided cages, it is an outer ring-guided cage that minimizes drag on rolling elements, thereby reducing heat generation and extending bearing life. Compared to two-piece designs, this one-piece cage also reduces heat generation and wear by improving the fluidity of the lubricant. Three: pin cage. The pin cage of the cylindrical roller bearing consists of two metal rings and a set of pins passing through the center of the rolling elements. This cage is used for large diameter cylindrical roller bearings where machined brass cages cannot be used. When using this design, it is often possible to increase the load carrying capacity by adding an additional number of cylindrical rollers.
