What are the raw materials required to make precision angular contact bearings?

Material is the basis of bearing quality. Professional precision angular contact bearing manufacturers teach you how to choose suitable materials. The material used in the manufacture of bearing parts has a great influence on the reliability and performance of the bearing. When the bearing is running, the rolling surface of the part is subjected to the action of periodic alternating load. Since the contact area between the rolling element and the raceway is very small, it will cause a high contact stress on the contact part. Under the repeated action of this stress, the material of the part will fatigue and eventually lead to fatigue spalling. At the same time, there is not only rolling friction but also sliding friction at the parts touching the parts. Therefore, the selection of precision angular contact bearing materials must have the following properties: excellent wear resistance and corrosion resistance, excellent stability, Excellent machinability, excellent impact resistance, higher contact fatigue strength, higher elastic limit, higher material purity, higher hardness. In order to ensure that the bearings have good quality and high reliability, our precision angular contact bearings are made of various high-quality materials. The main materials used in the manufacture of bearings are: 1.1 Fully hardened steel Generally, the material of the bearing rings and rolling elements adopts the overall hardened high carbon chromium bearing steel. Among them, high carbon chromium bearing steel is one of the materials with the longest application time, the most commonly used and the most comprehensive research in the bearing industry. GCr18Mo steel is a kind of steel with good impact resistance developed in recent years. After the high carbon chromium bearing steel is heat treated by martensite or bainite, the hardness can reach 58-65HRC. Correspondingly, other performance indicators can also meet the performance requirements of precision angular contact bearings. 1.2 Surface hardened steel For bearings that will bear large shock loads during use, such as railway freight car bearings, rolling mill bearings, and bearings with large interference during fitting, various grades of carburized steel can be used. After surface carburizing and heat treatment, the surface hardness of carburized steel can reach about 60 HRC, while the internal toughness is good (30 ~ 35 HRC), which is suitable for use in occasions with large impact loads. The main grades of carburized steel used are 20CrNi2MoA, 20Cr2Ni4A, 10CrNi3MoA, 15CrNi4MoA, etc., as well as 40CrMnMo, 50Mn, etc. 1.3 Induction hardened steel Surface induction hardening can be performed on local surfaces (such as raceways) of bearing parts, but other surfaces are not affected by quenching, so materials in the same part can have different properties. Commonly used induction hardened steel grades are 42CrMo, 50Mn, 5CrMnMo and so on. 1.4 High temperature bearing steel Bearings made of high carbon chromium bearing steel or carburized steel can be used when the working temperature is lower than 120°C. If the bearing operating temperature is higher than 120 ℃, it needs to undergo special heat treatment for stabilization. After stabilization treatment, the maximum working temperature of the material can reach 350 °C, but in this case, the bearing capacity, wear resistance and other properties will be reduced. And it is only suitable for short-term operation in high temperature environment. When the working temperature is higher than 350 ℃ or the bearing that works above 250 ℃ for a long time, the bearing should be made of high temperature bearing steel material. Commonly used high temperature bearing steel grades are Cr14Mo4, Cr4Mo4V, W18Cr4V and so on. In addition, if there are other special requirements, stainless steel, corrosion-resistant steel, and high-quality, high-material purity bearing steel such as vacuum degassing and electroslag remelting can also be used to manufacture bearings. Precision angular contact bearings made of these materials can meet various individual requirements of customers, but the price of bearings will vary compared with ordinary materials.
