In the practical application of custom bearings, the problem of bearing heating is often encountered. How to deal with it?


First of all, we must first understand the cause of the bearing heat.


The reasons why the bearing exceeds the normal temperature during operation may be:


1. The bearing and the journal are not uniformly fitted or the contact surface is too small (the fitting clearance is too small), and the specific pressure per unit area is too large. Most of this happens after the new machine is commissioned or the new bearing bush is replaced;


2. Bearing deflection or crankshaft bending and twisting;


3. The quality of the bearing bush is not good, the quality of the lubricating oil does not match (low viscosity), or the oil circuit is blocked. The oil supply pressure of the gear oil pump is too low, and the oil supply is interrupted, resulting in a lack of oil in the bearing bush, resulting in dry friction;


4. The stainless steel bearing has debris or too much lubricating oil and is too dirty;


5. The bearing bush has uneven excessive wear;

6. When the compressor is installed, the shaft coupling between the main shaft and the motor (or diesel engine) is not aligned, and the error is too large, causing the two shafts to be inclined.


After understanding the cause of the bearing fever, we can prescribe the right medicine.


Method of exclusion:


1. Scrape and grind the custom designed bearing bush with the coloring method to make the contact surface meet the requirements and improve the specific pressure per unit area;


2. Properly adjust the matching clearance, check the bending and twisting of the crankshaft, and replace the crankshaft or repair it according to the situation;


3. Use the bearing bush that meets the quality, check the oil pipe and the gear oil pump, use the lubricating oil that meets the quality requirements, and check and adjust the oil pump to make the pressure meet the requirements;


4. Clean and replace the new oil, adjust the oil pressure;


5. Replace the new bearing;


6. The concentricity of the two machines should be positive, and the leveling tolerance value should conform to the value specified in the machine manual. Especially when the compressor and the motor are connected with a rigid connection, more attention should be paid to alignment.
